Main Points:

  1. The Religious Spirit wants control.

  2. The Religious Spirit seeks to control through fear.

  3. Fear often comes in the form of “What if?”

  4. Worry is meditating on the Enemy’s words.

  5. The Father doesn’t lead with a harness. He leads with His nearness.

  6. The Religious Spirit isn’t cast out. The Religious Spirit must be broken.

  7. Resist = Oppose - Come in the opposite spirit.

  8. When you’re paralyzed by fear, it might be time to JUMP.

    Questions for Discussion:

    1. What does a healthy fear of the Lord look like?

    2. Do you ever rehearse the negative “what ifs” in your mind?

    3. What does it mean to “submit to God”? (James 4:7)

    4. What does it mean to “resist the devil”? (James 4:7)

    5. What are you most afraid of?

    6. What is your action step to oppose fear in your life?

Praise Him. What is one thing about who Jesus is that we can praise Him about?

Ask Him. What is a need we have or an area in which we would like to see God break through. 

Listen to Him: What is on God’s heart about your need. What is He saying to you?
