Grieving and Receiving

TABLE TALK

Grieving and Receiving

EVERYTHING YOU LEAVE YOU FIND IN JESUS.

EVERYTHING YOU LOSE IS FOUND IN JESUS.

Questions for Discussion:

  1. What sin do you need to grieve and repent of?

  2. What happens when we confess our sin to each other?

  3. What have you lost that you need to grieve?

  4. What will you receive from Jesus?

Scripture Engagement:

  • Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,
and cry to her that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned,
that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.
    A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low;
the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain.
And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
    - Isaiah 40:1-5

  • Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? - Romans 2:4

  • Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. - James 5:16

  • “Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

Praying Together:

Thank Him. What can we thank Him for?

Praise Him. What is one thing about who Jesus is that we can praise Him about?

Ask Him. What is a need we have or an area in which we would like to see God break through.

Listen to Him: What is on God’s heart about your need. What is He saying to you?
